2. Three Differences More Important Than "Thinness"
1. Different Materials, Different Feel Logics
001/002 Mostly Polyurethane (PU), fast heat conduction, no rubber smell, low "presence"; 003 Most latex is natural latex, with good elasticity and a snug fit, but its heat conduction is slightly slower and it has a slight latex odor.
2. PU is more selective about size
.PU is less ductile than latex, and if the size doesn't fit, it's more likely to get tight or even damaged. Before choosing 001/002, measure the perimeter carefully (circumference ÷ 2≈ nominal width), preferably slightly loose rather than too tight.
3. Lubrication performance varies:
latex models generally have more lubrication after leaving the factory; PU models tend to be drier; if dry, bring water-based lubricant to refill (do not use oil-based materials, as both materials are sensitive to oil).
3. Who should buy which?
- Those seeking ultimate "no sensation," sensitive to latex smell or allergic to latex → 001;
- Those seeking low presence but moderate budget → 002 (cost-effective choice);
- First time use, slightly extra size, focuses on elasticity and price →003.
IV. Pitfall Warning
1. Thinness = Reduced Protection? Not valid: The official brand 001 also passes strength testing, but wearing it throughout and avoiding nail scratches is more important;
2. PU models cost about 2–4 times more than latex versions, so choose rationally based on usage frequency;
3. Regardless of the type, tear along the serrated edges when opening, check both sides clearly, and discard if damaged.
In
summary: 001 is really thinner, but thinness is just the ticket to entry—material, size matching, and lubrication are the real dividing lines of the experience. With enough budget and precise dimensions, go for the 001; for stability and value for money, the 003 remains a timeless classic.
